‘Life’ was an obvious choice for what we do.
It basically says it all in one word.
Doing it right.
Amongst these pages you will only find experiences that enhance your own life and create a better life for the indigenous peoples and wildlife that act as host to us in Africa. It’s a simple ethos, but one that we all believe very passionately in.
You get back what you put in.
Our aim is to provide you with travel experiences that are fulfilling, that open your eyes to another world and put a smile not just on your face, but the faces of people less fortunate than ourselves.
The easy option is rarely the best option.
You don’t need any special skills, just an enthusiasm for life and a willingness to open your eyes to unfamiliar surroundings, different cultures and personal challenge. We want you to board the return flight home feeling very different to how you did when you came out.

Community Life:
We operate our Community Life programmes from our own camp on the Kenya Coast. Mukurumuji Camp sits in a secluded spot in Sable Valley in the Shimba Hills National Park. It’s a stunning camp and sleeps just 10 people. Elephants roam freely in the surrounding bush and the community, orphanange and school with whom you will spend much of your time is all within walking distance or short drive away. We offer stays of 1 week to 1 month throughout the year.

Ocean Life:
We are near the beach because we love the beach. Indeed we think it is one of the best beaches in the world and it is impossible to tire of the Indian Ocean. Most of our itineraries include some time on the beach but Ocean Life is for those of you who want a close experience with the extraordinary marine eco-system of the East African coastline. You can sail a live-aboard yacht around Pemba Island enjoying unlimited diving or choose from any of our PADI Scuba packages.

Wild-Life:
East Africa is home to over one-quarter of Africa’s wild animals. Many of our trips include game viewing and you can always add more days in the National Parks and Reserves.
We provide opportunities to work on conservation projects as well as our safaris to the best wildlife areas in the world.
Mountain Life:
We have several keen mountaineers in the team so we know what we are talking about when it comes to trekking in East Africa. We have included treks to Mt Kenya and Kilimanjaro as our experience has been that many people choose to challenge themselves on these mountains at important stages of their life. In our opinion there are few better places on earth that provide such an inspiring environment. Be warned there is a high chance that you may have different view of life after you step off the mountain.
Family Life:
We have families and understand the complications that confront you when looking for anything outside the norm for your family holiday. Africa is a fantastic place for kids and young people and Disneyland comes a poor second to a safari and learning bush skills. Working on a community project as a family is an extraordinary education and we fully appreciate the need for parents to have some time alone while the clan is kept busy……and tired.
How will I make a difference?
We have been shortlisted 4 years running for the World Responsible Travel Awards and you can expect to spend your stay working on a wide range of initiatives where you really will get out what you put in. You achieve this by working on a diverse range of local humanitarian, social and environmental projects that we have developed in partnership with the local communities under expert guidance. This gives you the opportunity to make a real difference through your financial and physical contributions. We also hope that you will come away as educated ambassadors for the critical issues facing conservation and community development.
